Top-grain leather gets better with age — *if* you maintain it. The difference between a 5-year-old leather sofa that looks like an old saddle and one that looks beat-up is one bottle of conditioner a year.
Run a dry microfibre cloth weekly. Lift cushions, get into the seams. Don't skip — dust grinds into the grain over time.
Every 3 months, apply a neutral leather conditioner (no silicone). A small bottle (~₹500) lasts 2 years on a single sofa. Test on a hidden patch first.
Spill: blot, don't rub. Water spills wipe off. Wine: blot dry, then a tiny dab of warm milk on the spot, then blot. Curry: call us same day.
Direct south-facing sunlight fades top-grain over 3–5 years. Pull a curtain in the brightest 3 hours of the day, or rotate the sofa twice a year.
Visible creases at the seat are character, not damage. Cracks mean the conditioner cycle was missed for 2+ years — recover with intensive conditioner, then resume the quarterly cycle.
Around year 10, leather can be re-tanned and re-dyed in place by a specialist. We'll connect you to ours when the time comes.
